Data at October

We think reinventing financing is a massive tech challenge, that’s why we built October as a tech and data centered startup. Today, the Tech, Data & Product teams (20 persons) are working on building the best financing experience ever made, very closely with the business.

The Data team is responsible for all things data at October: from setting up and maintaining our data-lake, to building and deploying ML models and setting up of the necessary backend for model inferences. We recently also set up Looker to address our analytical workloads.

Our data stack is Python based with all compute/storage resources on AWS. To name a few, we make use of PySpark, SQL, Pandas, MLFlow, Scikit-learn, Keras and PyTorch to build our models and deploy them as applications with Postgres, FastAPI, Elasticbeanstalk, S3 and Lambda.

You will be working within the Data team.

Your daily work:

• A commitment to writing robust and tested Python code
• Write technical specifications for the features defined within the team
• Help build a scalable infrastructure
• Review code from other developers and data-scientists
• Some data analytics involved with Databricks

About you:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
• Fluency in Python. Good knowledge of Flask/Fast APIs
• Familiarity with Pandas dataframes and related libraries
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
• Nice to have: Basic understanding of machine learning models
• Nice to have: Knowledge of CI/CD practices
